MESSAGE

On the occasion of the 18th Foundation Day, I extend my warm greetings and heartiest felicitations to all the officers and staff of Bharat Immunologicals and Biologicals Corporation Limited (BIBCOL).
Poliomyelitis continues to be a major public health problem from very early times as a paralytic disease of the children (infantile paralysis). The most susceptible age group to the disease is less than 15 years. Natural infection confers life long immunity against polio virus and hence the polio Vaccine (oral) is prepared using live attenuated Polio virus strains type 1,2 & 3 grown in in-vitro cultures of suitable cells. BIBCOL is doing commendable service to the society by manufacture and supply of high quality trivalent Oral Polio Vaccine. BIBCOL has one of the largest facilities in Asia for manufacture of OPV and it has an installed capacity of manufacture of 600 million doses of OPV per annum. Through its continued success and significant contribution to national and global immunization programs, BIBCOL has secured a significant place among the Top 20 Biotech companies in India.
BIBCOL for its long term sustainability in the market and also to face the challenges of the future, need to diversify from the state of a single product company to a multi-product manufacturing facility. With this vision, BIBCOL is intending to initiate two new projects, Production of DPT vaccine as well as Production of Zinc Dispersible Tablets. I am sure that BIBCOL will achieve the desired goals and make a landmark success in the history of public sector companies.
On this auspicious occasion, I urge all the officers and staff of BIBCOL to put in their best efforts for achieving the organizational goals and I once again wish the officers and staff of BIBCOL, all success in their endeavours.
